all i want is drugs and guns.

no st. tropez.
no beyonce.
no CEO bullshit.

the funniest shit is during one of the radio rips that's circulating, someone on hot97 yells "souljah boy is finished!" as the song gets restarted.

This is all good news. Might be obvious but a new release from Jay is an event. I mean, I didn't love Kingdom Come, but I really like the anticipation, reviews, and getting to hear the new album that first time. I expect you know what I mean.

Months back I made a post asking whether Tom Breihan is good or not. I haven't read anything since (I don't really read Village Voice) but the above article is real good.

skateboard is not a good look.
he should have got some of that stuff dude cooked up for fam-lay or rosco.

unless this beat is specifically sampled from something movie related, then it's horrible.
of course, i am judging it on laptop speakers, but this is not appealing.

i like the minimalist beat, but the synths could be meaner. i could do without the en vogue hook.

breihan is kind of embarrassing, but always an interesting read. i definitely would not have a beer with the dude, but i read 30% of what he posts.

There's nothing at ALL wrong with the lyrics/aim of the song.

I don't even hate the beat, but there's a little something missing.

heard it in the car.
i don't hate the beat anymore.

hold on on the hook remains, as guin noted above, horrible.

great beat. i see what they were going for, it's akin to a period piece of rap music.

you can even hear jay's flow mimic 80's rap cadences in short bursts. it's dope.

but yeah, shut the fuck up, P. let the song do it's own thing. hold on, for god's sakes?

i'm on board. hopefully they'll bring that dark but soulful feel that biggie's second album had. they need to get carlos broady back in the fold -- he was the best at sampling that gutter memphis shit (cnn's "driver's seat, lox's "24 hours to live").

He should've brought Ski back for this project. Can't say I expect that much from an album with 4 Puffy tracks and 2 by JD.. but I'll still download of course.

cosign.

carlos broady, nashiem myrick, ron lawrence, even chucky thompson. basically all the hitmen save stevie j are criminally slept on.

Now he's saying that Blue Magic doesn't fit the vibe of the album and it might be a bonus track.

This article has got me extra hyped for the album

another winnner.

http://rapidshare.com/files/61678139/Jay-Z-Roc_Boys.mp3

bonus factoid: the first four lines of the song include the hook to a song that spec made last week. we've got a leak in our midst.
